Products worth buying

Wow. I'm really bad at keeping up on things. But better late than never right?

Well here we go! Products worth buying!
I'm posting about products that are both high end that you can find at Sephora and Ulta, and things you can find at most drug stores.

Foundation

Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation

I use this foundation everyday and I love it. It's lightweight with medium coverage and definitely makes your skin glow. They offer a wide variety of shades and have a fool proof way of being able to tell what color to pick. You can find this at Sephora, Ulta or Urban Decay's website

Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation

Next up is Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation. When I first bought this it was called something different but, I guess they revamped their formula and renamed it but from what I've read it's almost the same as before. This foundation is verrrry full coverage and a little goes a long way which it's best used in the winter since in the summer it seems a full coverage foundation always melts off and becomes a big mess. You can find this at Sephora or Laura Mercier's website

L'oreal True Match

L'Oreal True Match Foundation is a bargain! It's somewhere between a light to medium coverage and for something that's carried in a drug store to have a wide variety of colors is always good! The only thing I recommend is to make sure you put on a light layer of powder after applying because it tends to melt away during the day. But hey, for $6-8 (I can't remember the exact amount) it's worth it. I think the bottle looks different now but it's still the same formula. You can find this at most drug stores.

*QUICK TIP* It's better to wear full coverage foundations in the winter since we don't have to worry about the heat melting it away and also, it seems that skin problems pop up more in the winter. For summer I suggest using something light like the True Match Foundation or any other kind of foundation that's lightweight, Tinted Moisturizers or a BB cream if you have small problem areas on your face (i.e. uneven skin tone, acne.)

Mascara

My all time fav is L'oreal's Double Extend Mascara.

The reason why I love this mascara so much is it lasts all day and doesn't flake off an hour after applying. The neat thing about it is the white side is like a base, when applied it forms little tubes that will make your lashes longer and fuller. Then (the red side) is applied as a black top coat. It's really hard to explain but I urge you to try it out. You can find it at most drug stores.

Urban Decay's Big Fatty Mascara.

I'm a big fan of Urban Decay and they surely didn't disappoint me when I bought this. With that being said this mascara makes your lashes look and feel soft and it has sort of a shine to it.... if that makes sense. So, if you're someone that likes big sky high and thick lashes than you might want to look more at the L'oreal Double Extend types. I use this everyday and I just use the base from L'oreals Double Extend Mascara and then this mascara as the top coat. I got 3 of these on sale for $5 each. I'm pretty sure it's more expensive now. So be on the lookout if it goes on sale. The only place you can buy it is online at Urban Decay's website.

And last but not least, Eye shadow Palette's!!!!!!

The one thing I have to say about these next products are they are quite spendy. But to me it's been worth it since I've had all of them for at least three years or a little less and haven't seen the bottom of the pan's yet.

Urban Decay's Naked Palette

I loooove this palette. Such pigmented colors and so many different looks you can create.
I mostly use this on special occasions since I'm at work everyday (that's what it seems like) and need something simple early in the morning. You can find this at Sephora, Ulta and Urban Decay's website

Urban Decay's Naked Basics Palette

Urban Decay just barely came out with this palette and I actually use it everyday. It's more appropriate for a work setting but the real reason is if you're like me you have to be up super early and you can't do something complicated because you're still half asleep. Ha. But, even though it has basic colors you can still create something dramatic.

Ben Nye Essential Eye Shadow Palette ESP-912

When I first saw makeup artists on YouTube using Ben Nye products I said "What the crap?" Because all I remembered about Ben Nye makeup was the stage makeup products they used to paint peoples faces as lions and clowns and other creepy stuff. Haha. This palette also has some basic colors but they are way more pigmented than any others out there. The staying power is incredible as well. This was my very first palette I ever bought and I still use the same one today. Remember what I said about them lasting a long time? Well it's been three years since I bought it and I say it was a good investment.

Well that's all folks. I think my next post is going to be about Products not worth buying? Or maybe a tutorial. I'll post on the Facebook page what I should do.

Thanks for all your support!

My favorite makeup tutorials!

Hey everyone! Here are couple tutorials that are my all time favorites!

*Please remember you can always substitute for cheaper products than what they use in the video. Enjoy!

This is an easy everyday makeup look that I often find myself using in the morning if I'm in a hurry.

This tutorial is done by one of my favorite makeup artist Marlena from MakeupGeek. It's a really easy smokey eye and is perfect for daytime since it isn't too done up.

This last tutorial is done by my all time #1 make up artist favorite person in the whole wide world Kandee Johnson! I highly suggest following her blog kandeej.com. This look is super easy and fast and also will be good to do with any other color you want not just the gray color she uses in the video.

Well, there you go people. Sorry for taking so long but life usually finds a way to distract me from getting stuff done. Ha ha. See you next time!

The low down on brushes

Hey everyone! I decided to start with brushes because they're an essential tool to have to apply makeup flawlessly and achieve any look you want to go for.

First off, I just want to give this one major makeup tip! You do not have to go out and buy the exact same stuff I talk about. 9 times out of 10 you can find something similar for way cheaper at say Ulta or even Wal-Mart and Target and will still get the same results. I learned this the hard way when all I'd do is shop at Sephora and later on find out another brand made it for way cheaper. But I will put links of where to find the ones I purchased.

Alright so here we go!

Holy batman these pictures are going to suck. Oh well, lets just pretend I have some fancy shmancy camera for a second.

Left to Right:
- Foundation Brush: I absolutely love this brush. Glides foundation on smoothly and effortlessly. I use it everyday and have had it for almost three years. It's only $8 and you can only order it online at makeupgeek.com. I've seen these at Target and Wal-Mart for around the same price.
-Blush Brush: Used to apply blush and even contour. I think it's important to apply blush with a brush so you can avoid harsh lines and applying too much. I ordered this one online at Crown Brush and it came in a set of 15 for $30. Also called Set 620/ 15 piece professional brush case w/ designer case.

Top to Bottom? (I'm laughing right now because these pictures are ridiculous)

Top:
-Detailed Small Crease brush: If you want a defined color in your crease then this is the brush you want. If you have smaller eyes it'll work wonderful for you. This is also from Crown Brush and came in the set of 15 I ordered online.
Bottom:
-Outer V Brush: Ahhh, the Outer V brush. It's a godsend. If you're like what the heck is an outer v? Then worry not dear friend. Click on this link How To: Use the Outer V Brush and watch how a little definition changes your whole look. Also got this from Makeup Geek for $6.59

Top to Bottom:
-Blending Brush: Perfect for blending color in the crease, this is definitely one I'd never be able to live without. I also use it for just a quick wash of color all over the lid. It's a brush made by Kat Von D and I bought it online at Sephora. I bought this quite a while ago in a set and it looks like it's been discontinued. There's a similar one for $55 but I definitely do not recommend buying it since it's expensive.
-Classic Rounded Crease Brush: Another one I'd never be able to live without. This one is also used for blending in the crease but is bigger so color won't be as concentrated. I usually use it for applying shadow all over the lid and in the crease when I'm in a hurry to get ready in the morning. I bought this at Sephora for $17.
-Eye Contour Brush: Used for applying eye shadow all over lid and brow bone. If you're applying an eye shadow that's shimmery or glittery and needs to be packed on I'd definitely use this type of brush. Made by Face Secrets. You can get it at Sally Beauty Supply for $6.99

Top to Bottom
-Oval Shadow Brush: I use this mostly for applying shadow on the brow bone. I would also imagine you could use it for the entire lid. Purchased this one online at Crown Brush in the set of 15 as mentioned before.
-Angled liner brush: Used for applying gel eyeliner. Also perfect for filling in eyebrows and packing eye shadow below the lower lash line. This also comes from Crown Brush in the set of 15 brushes.
-Brow/Lash Groomer: Used for grooming brows and combing lashes to make applying mascara more effective.

Well there you have it! Feel free to email me with questions or leave a comment beeeelooowww.

Ok going to bed now.

Always remember you are beautiful!
